Why should I book a Professional DJ service?

The entertainment or “lack of” can make or break your event. You have gone through the trouble of choosing a hall, a caterer, a decorator and a professional photographer, why not a professional DJ service? Not everyone will remember what they had to eat, but they will remember the music and the great time they had dancing all night.


What areas do you serve and do you travel?

Ultimate DJ Services is Located in Cole Harbour NS and services Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville and surrounding areas. We are also willing to travel, and over the years have performed at events as far as Yarmouth, NS all the way to PEI. Please contact us regarding travel rates.


How much will an event cost me?

Our basic rates can be found by clicking here. As every car is different, every event is different. Please contact us and we will be happy to discuss the details and requirements of your event and provide you with a free quotation.


Do you use professional equipment and do you have backup equipment?

At Ultimate DJ Services, we only use professional equipment and always have more than we need at your venue, just in case.


When do you arrive to set up an event?

We typically arrive 3 hours in advance to set up the DJ gear and prepare for the event start time. If an event is more detailed and requires more set up/ preparation time, we are happy to arrive early to ensure a successful event.

What kind of music do you play?

Our vast variety of music genres in our music library has everything from Frank Sinatra to the Black Eyed Peas. We will be happy to work with you in detail to pick out specific genres of music, song titles, and artists.

Do you have legal copies of music that you will be playing or will they be pirated copies downloaded from the internet?

We purchase our music which is licensed and approved by CONNECT Music Licensing and we constantly update our database to make sure that you get the latest music in your selection.

Do you accept requests?

Of course! Unless specifically requested not to, We will always accept requests (within reason) from your guests on the night of the event.

Will the music be continuous?

Yes! From the time your venue starts until it ends, there will always be music playing unless you ask otherwise, for example: speeches, special announcements or prayers.

We have booked a band. Do we still need a DJ and can we have both?

Yes! If you wish to go that route, we have worked with live bands before. Most bands do not play for the cocktail hours, dinner and have breaks between “sets”. We can provide the cocktail and dinner music and fill in between sets.

Can we meet you in-person before the event?

Yes, of course! contact us and ask to set up a face-to-face meeting, or even a phone meeting to get to know us even better. (The bottom line is that we want you to be comfortable with us before your event. Sometimes, a simple phone meeting will put you at ease.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Our preferred method of payment is e-Transfer or Cash. We will also accept a certified cheque. Please make cheque payable to Ultimate DJ Services.

What is your DJ entertainment overtime policy?

Your contract will state the cost of each overtime hour. Overtime is payable directly to the DJ at your event prior to the beginning of the overtime period.

Is it customary to tip a DJ?

If you feel your DJ has done a great job, gratuities are always greatly appreciated.
